The VII Belarusian-Latvian Business Forum

On September 16, 2016, the VII Belarusian-Latvian Business Forum was held in Riga, which gathered together more than 260 representatives of field associations, companies, financial institutions, chambers of commerce and industry, government bodies of two countries.

The organizers of the forum were the Latvian Agency of Investment and Development, the Society for promotion of Latvian and Belarusian economic relations, the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Latvia.

The Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus Yuri Chebotar  and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Latvia Juris Stinka opened the forum.

The participants of the forum exchanged views on current issues of the development of bilateral cooperation in the spheres of transport and logistics, digital economy, exchange trade in goods, as well as on the access to financial markets. The Society for promotion of Latvian and Belarusian economic relations signed the memorandum with the National center for marketing and price study and the agreement on cooperation with the FEZ Vitebsk Administration.

With the aim to establish and strengthen direct contacts between the Belarusian and Latvian enterpreneurs the meetings in the B2B format were held.

The meeting of Yuri Chebotar with the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Economics of the Republic of Latvia Arvils Ašeradens was held. The parties discussed the strategy of development of cooperation of Belarus and Latvia in economic sphere for the mid-term perspective, the mechanisms and forms of joint work.
