The process of obtaining entry visas to the Republic of Belarus

Due to the beginning of fulfilment of the consular functions by the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Kingdom of Sweden, visas to citizens residing in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland will be issued by Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Kingdom of Sweden (Stockholm).

In the Republic of Belarus, the following types of visas are provided:

Please note: In case of a serious illness or death of a close relative or spouse, your visa can be processed urgently, namely within one hour.

Visas are also divided into:

  • B transit visa;
  • C – short-term visa, valid up to 90 days (three month);
  • Dlong-term visa, valid for up to 1 year with the right to stay up to 90 days, unless otherwise stipulated by the international treaties of the Republic of Belarus.

Important information

  • Visa processing starts only after the Embassy has received all the necessary documents.We strongly advise you not to confirm your travel arrangements until you have received your visa. 
  • Once you receive your passport with your visa, please check your visa for:
     - the stamp on your visa;
     - the spelling of your name (as in your passport);
     - the date of issue;
     - the date of expiry;  
     - the passport number;
     - the type of visa - the number of entries.
  • Please, note that visas cannot be extended at the Embassy. If your travel plans change after the visa was issued, you have to apply for a new visa.
  • To extend the term of stay in the Republic of Belarus, a foreign national should apply to local office of Citizenship and Migration Department at the place of registration in order to obtain:
     - an exit visa
     - a sojourn permit and, if necessary, an exit-entry visa in addition to it
  • At the border crossing point to Belarus foreign nationals are required to complete a migration card and submit it to the immigration officer.
  • Upon arrival to Belarus visitors are required to register at the local citizenship and migration office of the Ministry of Interior of Belarus within 5 days (excepting sundays). Thereafter, local police authorities will issue a registration stamp, which will be attached to the visitor’s passport. If the visitor is staying in a hotel, this will be arranged by the hotel services (reception bureau).
